Cancellation policy
Last updated 31 October 2026.
Draft pending legal review. A lawyer has not reviewed this text yet, and it may change before WanderStayz opens for bookings.
The short version
- Cancelling is free until 24 hours before check-in, unless the listing showed the host's own charges before you sent your request.
- You can withdraw a request at any time before the host accepts.
- You pay the property directly. WanderStayz takes no payment from guests, so there is nothing for us to refund.
Before the host accepts
A request is not a booking yet. You can withdraw it from My bookings at any time, with no charge. If the host declines or doesn't answer in time, the request closes and you owe nothing.
After the host accepts
Until 24 hours before check-in, you can cancel your confirmed booking from My bookings. Your booking page shows the exact time this ends.
Inside those 24 hours the app can't cancel for you. Please call the host: their phone number is in your booking.
Host charges and no-shows
Some hosts set their own cancellation charges, and some set a no-show charge as a percentage of the stay. These appear in the Policies section of the listing before you send a request, and we save the policy shown to you with your booking. Any such charge is between you and the host, because you pay them, not us.
If you paid a host anything directly, such as a token advance, ask the host for its return under the policy on your booking.
If the host cancels
We tell you by email and in your account, with the host's reason. Cancelling after accepting counts against the host: repeated cancellations lower their place in search.
Frequent cancellations
A cancellation or no-show after a host accepts counts as a strike, even when the cancellation was free. Withdrawing a request before it's accepted doesn't. After 3 strikes in 180 days, we check your new requests before they reach hosts, and hosts can see that you cancel often.
